South Sudan Congratulates Kenyans on Successful Polls

The South Sudan government has congratulated Kenyans for conducting successful elections and also congratulated the President-Elect Uhuru Kenyatta.

JUBA, 11 March 2013 [Gurtong] - In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government expressed her thanks for efforts of the Kenyans in freely and fairly expressing their will over the one-week long held electoral process.

“The Republic of South Sudan and the people of South Sudan congratulate Kenya and the Kenyan people on successful elections this month. The people of South Sudan desire to see the will of the Kenyan people expressed freely and fairly,” said the government.

“South Sudan congratulates Uhuru Kenyatta and his running-mate William Ruto, of the Jubilee Coalition on their successful election as declared by the Kenya’s Election Commission on Saturday. The people of South Sudan wish the Kenyan people the best,” added the statement.

On Saturday the Kenyan Independent Electoral Commission declared Uhuru Kenyatta as the Fourth President after beating seven other presidential candidates.
