Speaking at the site, Uber said the successful harvest is encouraging despite the technical factors which contributed to a decrease in production in the quantity of rice this year.

“The work we have seen here is the best of a job well-done and I am here to register my thanks and appreciations to madam Hon .Ajok Wol Atak for her efforts to increase food production in the State. I am also extending my sincere thanks and appreciations to all farmers in the State” he said.
Mawut assured that the government will support agriculture in the State to ensure plenty of food production in order to fight hunger in the State.

“We in the government at all levels with our partners will jointly support farmers and make sure food is not again imported from neighbouring countries. The quality of such rice is the pride of Aweil State. We should consider the importance of increasing production while allowing high chances of food exporting rather than the opposite” he said.

The Manager of the Rice Scheme, Deng Jor said that with sufficient fertilisers the scheme will always harvest enough rice.
