RUMBEK, 29 January 2017 [Gurtong]-This comes as a result of the poor harvest last year in September following a series of drought which destroyed so many crops.
Abraham Makoi Bol Kodi appealed to the international humanitarian organisations and the government of the republic of South Sudan to extend support to bridge the hunger gap with food supply to the affected community of Western Lakes State.
South Sudan has over 90 percent suitable land for growing crops, but only 4.5 percent is being utilized since 2011.
