State Chamber of Commerce Officially Launched in Yambio

The Western Equatoria State Chamber of Commerce was officially launched on Saturday in the state capital Yambio.

YAMBIO, 12 October 2009 (Gurtong) – The occasion was graced by the state Deputy Governor Colonel Joseph Ngere Paciko and key state government officials.

Colonel Ngere who is also the chairperson of the committee organising next year’s CPA celebrations to be held in Yambio urged the business community to work hard and benefit from the celebration’s fund.

“I urge all of you to register the facilities in this state like hotels and lodges so that you may smoothly operate during the celebrations and reap benefits”, he told the businessmen.

There was a considerable turn up of the business community in Yambio, church leaders, traditional leaders.

“There is no segregation in business. The business community is ready and willing to cooperate with the government for development”, said the Chairperson of State Chamber of Commerce Hezekiah Phillip Tuu.

Yambio County Commissioner David Billy Apanetus, commended the cooperation of the Chamber of Commerce with the county authorities but stressed that the allocated business plot should be developed immediately, lest the owners of the undeveloped plots  lose them to those ready for development.

The event was concluded by entertainment from the business community in Yambio.
