National Dialogue Launched In Torit

The launch of the national dialogue as constituted by the president Salva Kiir Mayardit, was on Tuesday launched in Torit with calls of reconciliation aong leaders and citizens.

TORIT, 20 December 2017 [Gurtong] - The national dialogue sub-Committee's Chairperson for Eastern Equatoria State, Nartisio Loluke Manir said the leaders are willing and ready to build unity amongst themselves in order to support and address issues which we have been facing the Eastern bank and South Sudan at large.

“We have come to bury down our differences and replace them by opening a new era of reconciliation and unity among ourselves. We should no longer take it for granted but with seriousness searching for lasting peace in the region." He said.

He called on the people of the region to freely exercise freedom of expression to present their views on what can be done in order to successfully be reunited saying that the chief objective of the National Dialogue is to end the continuing instability in the country.

Hon. Loluke clarified that the purpose of the national dialogue committee in Torit is to collect and gather necessary opinions about how to go about reconciliation initiatives.

Also speaking during the launch, the Imatong State Governor, Hon. Tobiolo Alberio Oromo emphasized that the national dialogue is for all South Sudanese and that it should not be left to government leaders or institutions but must be owned by every South Sudanese citizen.

He warned politicians not to mix politics with the national dialogue.
