Wau State Youth Union Launches Peace And Reconciliation Program

The office of Youth Union Association in Wau State today launched the Youth for Peace and Reconciliation Programme aiming at restoring lasting peace among residents residing within Wau town.

WAU, 20 January 2018 [Gurtong]-The programme is expected to have a door to door peace awareness messages to the communities residing within the town.

Speaking during the launch attended by Wau state government official representatives, Wau State Youth Union Association chairperson, David Santino said the Youth initiated the program to assist the government in bringing peace.

 “Today at the State Youth Union, we have launched what is called Youth for Peace and Reconciliation program. The program brought together State government official representatives, headed by the State government advisor on peace and reconciliation, representing the State Governor and the minister for Information, Youth and Sports and all the members of the State legislative assembly. We initiated this programme as the youth because peace is what unites us in the first place,” said David Santino.

He said that to bring peace in the State it should be the responsibility of each and every one and not just the government.
