ADDISABABA, 16 February, 2018 [Gurtong]-
Archbishop John Baptist Odama speaking to journalist at the HLRF said the negotiators should consider the cries and sufferings of the South Sudanese in the refugee camps.

“I came all the way from Uganda to this forum which is called High Level Revitalization Forum. In this forum the voices of the suffering refugees in Uganda from South Sudan should be heard and their voice is of cries, cries because they are suffering because they don’t have enough food, enough medicine, enough facilities to promote the education of their children who are school going age,” Archbishop Odama said.

“They are appealing to the leaders and to this forum to resolve the issues of ending the war as soon as possible and they live in sustainable peace to rebuild themselves as they come back and develop,” he added.

He said the church in Uganda is involved in assisting the people of South Sudan in the refugee camps.

The Archbishop also said he prayed at the end of his communication to the forum for many things for the refugees, including having hope for a better future.

The IGAD High Level Revitalization Forum started on February 5th in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa in a bid to revitalize the Agreement for Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (ARCS) which was signed in 2015.
