WAU, 19 September 2018 [Gurtong] -
In an interview with Gurtong, Abak Yel Madotsaid said the situation is alarming as many shy away from seeking treatment and access to drugs is limited.

“Hepatitis is very high in Tonj State about 80% but we don’t have medicine. We don’t have access to treatment but some people go to Wau and seek for treatment,” he said.

“HIV is like 70 %, most of them are from the village. The virus is spreading in the village. What I do, is i used to give awareness to the people that if you have hepatitis, isolate yourself until you have gotten treatment for the disease. Because it can be easily spread from one person to another.” Said the minister.

She said most people with the virus came from the village which is now difficult for the ministry to take medicines to such far areas due to rainy season.
