Bangladesh General Chief Of Staff On Tour In South Sudan

Wau 23, April 2019 (GURTONG) - The Bangladesh General Chief of Staff, General Aziz Ahmed, said his forces serving under the United Nations peace keeping forces in South Sudan will continue to inspire the need to strengthen peace activities in the Country.

Gen Ahmed, who is currently in South Sudan, told Gurtong today in an inclusive interview in Wau that he has come to South Sudan to see the performance of his forces serving under the UN in the country.

In his message, he urged the Bangladesh forces to continue serving the people of South Sudan in a peaceful heart with the aim of contributing to development and bring lasting peace in the Country.

“Remember that you have come here to assist in bringing normality back to South Sudan,” he said.

“You have to work under your mandated trust under the United Nations to merge peace and development,” he added.

Aziz Ahmed served in United Nations NMISS in Wau as Commander of the Bangladesh forces from 2005 – 2006.
