Need To Protect Girl-Child From Public Exhibitions

"When girls who are barely 13 years of age are tossed to the limelight to entertain dignitaries at public events, taught by adult women...to gyrate and swing their waists what follows is experimentation, behaving as if they were eligible, then, before the plume from the male dancer is blown off..."

Victor Lugala

There is a group of our elite women loudest when under the banner of activism, singling out one of our social ills in an illegal institution dubbed "child marriage," ignoring some negative cultural aspects which expose girls to exploitation.

When girls who are barely 13 years of age are tossed to the limelight to entertain dignitaries at public events, taught by adult women - some from disturbed marriages - to gyrate and swing their waists what follows is experimentation, behaving as if they were eligible, then, before the plume from the male dancer is blown off his head - child marriage follows.

Acholi traditional dance troupes in Juba are notorious for this without considering the age of the little girls they recruit.

I strongly suggest that such traditional dances which feature girls who have not reached puberty must be BANNED forthwith!

Who is with me?
