JUBA, 06 December 2009 (Gurtong) - The winner was announced by the Director for Finance and Administration of Vivacell Rabih Haddad at Nyakuron Cultural Center on Sunday night.
“The winner of Miss Malaika 2009-2010 is Atong Ajak Dimch”, Mr Haddad announced.

The New Miss Malaika comes from Jonglei State and this is the fourth time that a contestant from Jonglei state has won the Miss Malaika contest.
Ms Dimch was given a car and some other prices while the two runners up were given laptops each.
The first runner up was Anne Ido from Eastern Equatoria and the second runner up was Anger Deng from Abyei.
“I thank everybody who helped me finish my year successfully. The search for the New Miss Malaika is kind of distressing but exciting”, said the outgoing Miss Malaika Nora Nok Duany.
The Undersecretary in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport Peter Baptist Abakar who opened the ceremony said the Ministry will support such activities which promote unity of the people.
The Public Relations and Authorities Coordinator of Vivacell Mr Jago Deng Adongjak said that his company is honoured to support activities for young ladies.
“You are soldiers in your own rights and you can still do that in future”, he said.
“I would like to say that they all look beautiful. To the contestants there will always be the one winner but you are all winners, be positive in life, when you fall pick up your stick and stand again”, he stressed.
The Commercial Director of Vivacell Mr Khalil Kassab received the company’s certificate.
The event was organised by Southern Sudan Artists Association and sponsored by Vivacell Mobile operator.
The chief organiser Mr Lam Tungwar said the event is held annually and will continue to showcase the beauty and the rich culture of the people of South Sudan.
The event was graced by popular Congolese Musician Kanda Bongo Man as well as Kenyan musician Wyre who performed alongside South Sudanese musician Lam in their collabo hit, Call the President.
