Unity State Cabinet Sworn In
The Unity State’s new cabinet was sworn in last Friday at the Secretariat General in the presence of the Legislative Assembly Speaker Mr. Simon Maguek Gai, parliamentarians, the head of legal administration among other dignitaries.

The swearing in ceremony preceded the unanimous approval of the appointment of the Advisors, Ministers and Commissioners by parliament in its resolution number 4 of its sitting number 28 of the third session dated 25th of April 2012.
The new government structure consists of 14 ministers, 6 Advisors and 9 county commissioners including the state headquarter commissioner.
Speaking during the swearing in ceremony the Unity State Governor Hon. Taban Deng Gai told the new cabinet to work very hard and to deliver services in an efficient manner.
“You must be committed to work and defend the integrity of the Republic of South Sudan and to stop Sudan’s aggression,” Deng added.
The Deputy Governor of Unity State who is also the minister of local government and law enforcement Mr. Michael Chiangjiek Geay thanked the Governor for the new appointments and asked them to work together to achieve the objectives and face the challenges at the border region between the two Sudans.
The Deputy Governor was sworn in first followed by the Ministers, Advisors and Commissioners respectively.
