YAMBIO, 17 June 2012 [Gurtong] -The match that saw Villa United lose narrowly to Atlabara was graced by the Western Equatoria State Minister for Youth and Sports Gibson Bullen Wande.
John William opened the scoring sheet in the 17th minute for Atlabara after missing several scoring chances.
The equalizer came through a 27th minute penalty that was scored by Villa United captain Douglas Shoni after Willson Dagu was fouled at the Atlabara goal area.
William struck again in the 35th minute when referee Rujbor Dak penalised Villa United for a foul on the Atlabara danger man.
The second half saw Patrick Eliba score the third goal for Atlabara in the 48th minute, three minutes before Villa’s Daniel Amokachi hit the net.
Amokachi leveled the score line in the 59th minute when he scored a fantastic finish.
The celebration was however, cut short when Atlabara’s Rubega Joseph scored a surprise goal in the 89th minute of the match.
After the match, the two teams paid tribute to Atlabara’s main sponsor, the late Western Equatoria State Governor Samuel Abujohn Kabash by visiting his tomb at the former state secretariat in Yambio.
Atlabara FC also donated foot balls to all football clubs in Yambio.
