BOR, 21 June 2012 [Gurtong] – The document will guide the recruitment processes in the state ministries.
“This policy will cover all positions other than uniformed staff, County Commissioners and other senior staff identified under the Local Government Act 2009”, said the State Minister of Labour Rachael Nyadak Paul.
She said the aim of the recruitment and selection policy guideline is to ensure fair recruitment in the state.
“Jonglei State civil service will have highly competent individuals recruited through set recruitment standards”, she said.
“My ministry will promote excellence, integrity and professional standards in practicing human resource management in the public sector. We will strive to provide all the support to improve the effectiveness of human resource management and development programs”, added Nyadak.
She lauded the support offered to her ministry by development partners, including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and non-governmental organisations operating in the state.
The Deputy State Governor Hussein Maar Nyuot called for the implementation of the reforms, saying it will control existence of ghost workers in different ministries.
The State Governor Kuol Manyang Juuk commended the ministry for its exemplary work.
