Norwegian People's Aid Congratulates the Republic of S. Sudan on Her 1st Independence Anniversary

The Republic of South Sudan is at the verge of yet another historic moment. Commemorating its 1st anniversary of independence on the 9th July 2012.

Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) South Sudan Programme wishes to congratulate the people of South Sudan who have been struggling for decades to attain more power and greater influence over their own lives and social development.

As the Republic of South Sudan celebrates its 1st independence anniversary, NPA is aware that the young Nation will face challenges in: peace building; healing of its people traumatized by war; reconstructing a battered infrastructure; restoring its economy; ensuring respect for human rights and the rule of law and improving the people’s standard of living.

NPA is delighted to send best wishes to the people of South Sudan as they prepare to celebrate the anniversary.
