TORIT, 10 July 2012 [Gurtong] – Cyprian Lokale Khamis took oath of office as Chairperson of Humanitarian Affairs, Human Rights, Peace, Reconciliation and Legislation while Joseph Celepus Lonok took oath as the Deputy Chairperson of Education and Scholarships.
The announcement was made through a memo by the Eastern Equatoria State Legislative Assembly’s Speaker, Emmanuel Ambrose Ocholimoi.
“Any vacancy occurring in standing specialised committees shall be brought to the attention of the Speaker through the Assembly clerk who shall then accordingly make consultations and fill the vacancy within one month of the occurrence of the vacancy”, the Speaker said.
Khamis replaces Charles Ambrosio Lokonoi who was appointed as State Minister of Roads and Transport in the recent government reshuffle while Lonok takes the position of Deputy Chairperson of Education and Scholarships previously held by Khamis.
The swearing in ceremony was administered by a judge from Judiciary of the Republic of South Sudan in presence of Speaker and Clerk of the Assembly.
