BOR, 09 July 2012 [Gurtong] –  Jonglei Governor, Kuol Manyang Juuk urged the people of different ethnic backgrounds to unite under one nation.

“Let us make peace, work for peace, unite our ranks, denounce tribalism, let us denounce corruption, and let us promote cooperation,” he said.

Juuk called on the people to embark on developing the new independent nation.

“You should not only be recipients, you must produce your own food and sell to other part of the world. So let us use our energies for production,” he said.

He told those in attendance at the Freedom Square that the country needs to produce its own food in order to become self sufficient.

The Governor outlined the achievements made in the first year of Independence praising the improvement in security within the state.
