SPLA To Boost Protection of South Sudan Borders

The Sudan People’s Liberation Army will continue protecting South Sudan’s borders from Sudan’s invasion, an official has pledged.

WAU, 11 July 2012[Gurtong] - Major General Andrea Dominic Makoldit of Division Five Infantry said in a speech in Wau during South Sudan’s first independence celebrations on Monday.

Thousands of Western Bahr el Ghazal State residents attended the celebrations at the State stadium.

Speaking during the occasion, State Governor Rizik Zackaria Hassan commended his ministers for the renovation of the Wau Main Teaching Hospital and construction of 16 Payam headquarters.

Hassan also thanked the citizens of Western Bahr el Ghazal State for maintaining peace.

He promised that his government will deliver services to the citizens as promised in 2011.
