WAU, 23 July 2012 [Gurtong] - The SPLM termed the attacks as ‘barbaric and a violation of the UN Security Council Resolution 2046.’

In a press release, the SPLM Secretary for Information and Culture Bol Makueng, asked the Sudanese people to take note that their National Congress Party does not want peace between the two nations.

“The Sudanese delegation went to Ethiopia for a meeting with the South Sudanese delegation just to deceive the UN and the African Union that they were for peace,” said Makueng.

On Friday, Sudan jet fighters dropped four bombs on South Sudan’s territory in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State injuring two people.

The party asked the African Union to task the Sudanese delegation at the talks in Ethiopia to explain this act of aggression on the Republic of South Sudan.

The SPLM said that the Sudanese government should be held responsible for the provocation and any escalation that could result into a return to war between the two countries.
