KAMPALA, 31 July 2012 [Gurtong] - The Governor was speaking to the press in Rumbek after a arriving from Switzerland last Friday where he attended a conference on Human Security alongside with officials from the government of the Republic of South Sudan.
” Iam very infuriated by the Cueibet incident where two rival clans of Ayel and Wat fought without clear grievances”, said Mayay.
The Governor directed security agents to recover all illegal firearms and ensure the suspects behind the recent clashes in Cueibet County face justice.
He urged the residents to help police in identifying the criminals and warned those with illegal guns to surrender them immediately to the authorities.
On Tuesday, the Governor will brief his Council of Ministers and security officials over his visit to Switzerland.
The briefing will be attended by County Commissioners from Lakes State.
