MARIDI, 09 August 2012[Gurtong] - The training is being conducted by the Capacity building for Post Conflict Reintegration (CAPOR) project under Action Africa Help South Sudan.
The women are being trained on business skills including simple budgeting, business planning, record book keeping, finance management and leadership skills.
Community Information Officer Peter William told Gurtong that the 16 participants have been selected from the four Bomas of Maridi. They are; Modobai, Mablindi, Napgaka and Town Boma.
It is expected that the skills acquired from the training will help them manage their business at the local levels.
At the end of the training, the participants will be given a startup capital to invest into small business enterprises within their Bomas.
For years, women in South Sudan have been lagging behind in the business field, but with this initiative, it is hoped that they will be empowered to grow.
