Three killed in Lopa and Lafon County Following Raided Cattle

Three people have been killed by a mob in Lofirang Boma, Lopa and Lafon County while tracing their stolen cattle.

TORIT, 11 August 2012 [Gurtong] - The dead hailing from Idali village, Western Lopit, were attached by a mob after discovering the cows footprints ended up in the Harilo Payam in Lopa and Lafon County.

Reports say that they were to report their finding to the area chief but a mob descended on then with machetes killing them instantly.

The bodies of the deceased have been retrieved from the area and state police are investigating the case.

Cattle’s rustling has becoming one of the rampant security threats in the State where most of the communities in the state raid their neighbouring villages.
