WAU, 12 August 2012 [Gurtong] – Hassan urged Muslims in the state to celebrate the holy month peacefully with respect and dignity.
The governor said that the state has received respect because of the peaceful coexistence between the different religious groups.
The Muslims were encouraged to share with Christians during the fasting period to bring harmony in their relationship.
Meanwhile the state Minister for Sports and Culture Arkangelo Anyar Anyar has announced that the state government has organised a lunch for all Muslims and Christians on 28 August 2012
The government urged Muslims across the state to remain calm as it has provided adequate security to ensure peace during the holy month.
This is the second time South Sudanese Muslims are celebrating Ramadan since the country gained its independence last year.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar where Muslims worldwide observe by fasting.
