JUBA, 01 September 2012 [Gurtong] - Chairman Peter Kuol Chol advised Yau Yau to put off violence and embrace peace so that the whole nation stabilizes for development to emerge.

Chol condemned the fighting in Jonglei describing it as unacceptable for it displaces the innocent in Pibor County.

He urged the Murle youth who are alleged to be part of the fight to distant themselves from being used in an effort to achieve what he termed as “selfish interest.”

He also urged the youth to go to school and help in developmental programs since their future lies in education.

The government is also urged to put more efforts to the peace process and incorporate the other rebels in the government and join the process of development.

In an effort to find out whether it Khartoum is supporting the rebels as alleged, Chol said that “For anyone to begin a fight, there must be a source of support.”

At a time when the two countries are to resume negotiations in Addis-Ababa, Kuol urged Sudan to stop supporting the rebels since they recognised the referendum and the independence of South Sudan.
