Man Killed Over Adultery Claims In Mapel

A man has been killed in Mapel town, Jur River County over adultery claims.

MAPEL, 03 October 2012 [Gurtong] - Eye witnesses told Gurtong that the there was an argument between a man identified as  Majok Manyang who accused a woman of being adulterous for having a child with another man.

The husband of the woman learnt of the argument which led to a fight between two clan members leading to the death of a 25 year old unidentified man.

While speaking to Gurtong at the burial scene, Police Captain Peter Leolard said the situation between the two clans id under control.

Tension was so high last night when the information reached the late relatives that their 25 year old son died on the way to Wau hospital.

Mapel Main Market east of Jur River County remains under police guard.

The police say the move has been taken to control any outbreak of violence in the town that lie between the two rival clans.

The suspect has been transferred to Wau as investigations commence into the killing.
