BENTIU, 01 November 2012 [Gurtong] - The 35 members called a meeting chaired by the Bol Ruot and issued a vote of no confident against the secretary.
The council thereafter elected William Ruot as a replacement. Ruot was the Assistant Secretary for information in the county.
Speaking to Gurtong via phone, Makuei William said that there were disagreements with the County Commissioner Major John Chuol Wang which was started during the Kala- Azar outbreak early this year.
“ I talked to the Commissioner about the disease so that he can report it the State Hospital to supply the county with drugs, but the commissioner ignored it, till the team was sent from the State for verification,’ he said.
“The second problem was when the commissioner issued a directive relieving all the chiefs from their position and replacing them without following the right procedure to elect them according to their popularity, he also ignored my advice,” added Makuei.
He said that they also disagreed when he advised him not to use the Community Development Fund (CDF) for public transport.
Makuei said that he had accepted the decision to vote him out but advised the new secretary to deliver on the mission and objective of the ruling party SPLM at the county.
The County SPLM Chairperson Bol Ruot stated that pleased that Makuei did not react angrily when he was voted out because he did not initially inform the members of the secretariat while compiling a report against the Commissioner.
Ruot said that Makuei should have first called the seven members to discuss the way forward.
