JUBA, Feb 3 (Gurtong) – New trading routes between northern and South Sudan at Kiir Adem and from the new Abyei road will be opened to avoid looming hunger following the clashes along the north-south border said the Northern Bahr el Ghazal (NBEG) State Governor, Madut Biar.

Authorities in Wau have also told Gurtong that the violence over the Christmas period led to severe shortages in the capital of Western Bahr el Ghazal, also dependent on northern goods. Read more

RUMBEK, Jan 28 (Gurtong) – Because of fuel shortages linked to continuing post-election violence in Kenya, Radio Rumbek FM-98 has been off-air since Saturday for the first time since it began work almost a year ago.
