Lakes State Parliamentarian Jailed Over Child Abduction

The Rumbek Central County court has convicted Mr. Zechariah Puoric Matuong over charges of child abduction. Puoric was sentenced to two years imprisonment and was also ordered by the court to pay 7 cows over charges of adultery.

13 Killed In Nyirol County, Jonglei State

The Commissioner of Nyirol County in Jonglei State Isaac Kuach Duoth has reported that early this week, suspected Murle youths attacked the Wich-Deng village killing 13 people and raiding 4,000 herds of cattle.

51 Killed In Fresh Retaliatory Attacks In Jonglei

51 people have been killed, 12 others wounded in the late hours of Monday (16th/1/2012) in Duk Padiat County of Jonglei State by suspected Murle attackers, that’s according to the County Commissioner Mr. Eliza Mochnoam.

Women and children are the most affected persons of the Jonglei ethnic conflicts that sparked off last month with yet further attacks on going, an official statement from the Medicines Sans Frontieres, (MSF) has reported.
