highlight of Martyrs day on 2nd August 2008. Singing songs and saying 
riddles to the
masses to remember Garang and all those who gave their lives for the sake of
freedom in south Sudan and the marginalized areas.

BOR, July 29, (Gurtong) - Three members of parliament were sworn in on Monday. Achol Biar Akech, 22 becamethe youngest memberafter ''inheriting'' her late father’s seat following hisuntimely death in December 2007 in a car accident on his way to home village at Twic East county.

AWEIL, July 29 (Gurtong) – Heavy rain fell in Aweil town on Monday. Aweil Town villages of Malou Awer ,Navaisha, Hai Salam and Hai Toch are flooded by rain water. Many houses have been damaged. People who are affected by this floods resettled near Aweil airstrip and other villages which are not so affected by the rain water.

July 26, 2008 (JUBA) – The Government of Southern Sudan (GoSS) passed a resolution on Friday earmarking 21 million US dollars to prepare Malakal town, the capital of Upper Nile state, for the next year’s celebrations of the 4th anniversary of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).

The eight are members of southern Sudan’s Toposa ethnic group. The Uganda People’s Defense Force (UPDF) said they were part of a group of 30 people who crossed into the border district of Kaabong from southern Sudan last week.

July 25, 2008 (JUBA) – The Government of Southern Sudan (GoSS) has passed a resolution forming a Ministerial Committee to look into possible urgent solutions to quickly repatriate the three universities of Southern Sudan currently based in Khartoum.
