Malakia and Kineti Clubs Emerge Top

Torit Local Football Association (ToLFA) has finally handed over two trophies to the 2012/2013 premier league state champions where Malakia emerged champions in top division after hammering Kineti 4-1 last evening at Torit Freedom Square in Eastern Equatoria State.

TORIT, 16 August 2013 [Gurtong] – Graced by thousands of youth who gave encouragement to both clubs, the association Chairperson Charles Udwar Ukech alongside the State MP Hon. John Ocahng Bongomin who represented the state government addressed the gathering after the peaceful football competition ended a few minutes to 7pm at the Torit Freedom Square playgrounds.

He praised the players from both clubs saying for demonstrating maturity in tactical styles as he commented the game was one of the most peaceful ones being witnessed in the history of the state.

At the beginning of the yesterday’s tight football game, the match during the first round, witnessed Kineti’s Dukaru Mokombe scoring the first goal in the 32nd minute which remained the only goal for his team.

This broke a continuous silence as Malakia FC fans grew disappointed until the end of the first half concluded 1-0.

Richard Taban of Malakia scored his team’s first goal in the 45th Minute as the fans started regaining happiness after equalizing the game.

Malakia’s Said Abdallah Kafelo stylishly scored his three consecutive hat-trick against the opponent in 64th, 76th and 91st minutes respectively, bringing the final scores of the Malakia FC against Kineti FC 4-1.

Ukech who spoke to Gurtong immediately after the match at the main playgrounds clarified that the competition only was held purposely to enable his management hand over the two key trophies which the two teams won during the 2012/2013 Premier Leagues played at the same venue.

He further clarified that in the 2012/2013, Kineti FC became the Champions of first division teams after being announced the victor following high scores.

Malakia was the winner of the second division teams.

MP, John Ocahng Bongomin, who was the guest speaker representing the state government at appreciated the winner, Malakia FC, for the triumph it had broken as a record.

He made it clear that the main objective of the event was actually to hand over the two trophies to the two giant teams; Malakia FC and Kineti FC.
