JUBA – 12 December 2013 [Gurtong] – “From this Christmas, we ask our people to show sign of peace beginning from now that people hope to celebrate this Christmas,” he said on Wednesday. “We pray that this Christmas really is a Christmas for hoping for peace and lasting peace..”

He also called for love among the citizens, saying togetherness would phase-out all the daunting challenges facing South Sudan.

December 25 of every year - is a Holy Day when Christians world over commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, the begotten son of God.

South Sudan, after gaining independence over two years ago, faces critical challenges ranging from insecurity, maternal mortality and economic problems.

In the interest of achieving lasting peace, the man of God also revealed that he is currently pursuing talks with David Yau Yau, the rebel leader wrecking havoc in the volatile Jonglei State.
