JUBA – 12 December 2013 [Gurtong] –  Lol Bus, while travelling from Kampala to Juba yesterday hit a tree consequently causing a fatal accident according to sources.

Col. James Monday Enoka, the South Sudan National Police Spokesman confirmed the accident to Gurtong, saying the driver was speeding on the highway and failed to control the bus.

“Investigations are currently taking place to find out more about the incident,” Enoka said. “The wounded passengers are currently in different hospitals.”

Passengers in the bus were reported to be mainly South Sudanese travelling from Uganda for Christmas to the country.

It’s not the first time a fatal accident is occurring along the road. Following its inauguration, the only-long and well tarmacked Juba-Nimule road in early 2012, several buses have been involved in critical fatal accidents.
