TORIT, 14 April 2015 [Gurtong] – Ocholamero who comes from Gunyoro village in Imurok Payam, Torit County in Eastern Equatoria State, arrived his village on Sunday where he was warmly received by his community.

He addressed those who turned up in numbers during his arrival on how important his home coming is.

"East or West, home is the best that is why I have decided to start my marathon travel all the way from Australia via Uganda's Kampala, to my own home, Gunyoro to reunite or join you all. Thank you all for the great welcome you have shown me today here."

In his address to his people, Mr. Oroto deeply emphasized the spirit of hard work to be embraced by his fellow South Sudanese citizens rather than depending on foreign imports.

He further encouraged every family to enroll children in school saying through education, “nothing in this world is impossible as it (education) unlocks or opens everything”.

Mr. Oroto, who is now 32 years advised the youth to work harder in protecting their nation, South Sudan because they worked hard to attain the present independence saying what remains now is rebuilding through a collective endeavor.

Mr. Oroto was accompanied by his Torit County Commissioner, German Charles Ojok to his village Gunyoro where he also hails from.

The commissioner also joined the Gunyoro residents in welcoming Oroto and encouraged Oroto to advocate for the return of South Sudanese in the diaspora, with a sole intention for nation building.
