Bor, 26 November 2015 [Gurtong] - Peter Deng Aguer, while speaking to parliamentarians noted that such activities may cause major displacement of people and migration of those who are vulnerable during a time when the peace agreement is meant to be implemented.

“Rampant banditry of some Murle remains frightening in villages of Duk, Twic East and Bor Counties”, he said. He said peace conferences among the affected communitiesof Jonglei State and Pibor administrative area must be conducted with immediate effect to curb the vice.

“As it is a right time for peace, many peace mini-conferences need tobe conducted in Jonglei state,” heexplained. He is calling for speedy sensitization of the peace agreement to the grass roots and peace building initiatives among the local people in areas that are accessible.
