1. Agum Ruben Maciery, deputy Governor
2. Martin Maciec Kuc, Secretary General
3. Mawet Manuer Kok, Commissioner of Rumbek Central County
4. Madit Malual Kachol, Commissioner of Rumbek East County
5. Benjamin Akol Mourwel, Commissioner of Wulu County
6. Madong Mourwel Nyat Commissioner of Rumbek North County

The long awaited appointment of the Commissioners was received with mixed reactions.

Some say that new faces are needed in the government as insecurity has been a major challenge in Rumbek with little success made to end the continuous cycle of revenge killings.

Jacob Mading Makur a senior government official said, “As citizens we were expecting our Governor, Abraham Makoi Bol first of all to create the new Counties in Western Lakes State before appointing the County Commissioners as other States have done.

Is the Local Govt law in force? Section 48 (2) requires all county commissioners to be elected, not appointed.
S. 48 (2) - The County Commissioner shall be directly elected by the people of the County by universal suffrage in a general election.
