More than 400 illegal firearms have been collected in the on-going disarmament process in Tonj South County.

TONJ 03 July 2016 [Gurtong]-Madit Malek Akuien the State Minister of Information said that process has been running smoothly with the Chiefs cooperating with the police.

“Disarmament is going on well, we have started in Tonj South, this disarmament in Tonj South is going on well, all the chiefs are cooperating with police and the army and as we are speaking a lot of guns have been reported, more than 400 guns.”

Madit however said that there are a few individuals who are hiding with their guns but the search to find them is underway.

He said that the on-going disarmament will come to an end on the 31st of July before moving to another County.
