Construction Of A New Traditional Town Court To Begin In Rumbek Central County

Western Lakes State traditional town court construction has been handed over to USAID-Viable Support for Transition and Stability.

RUMBEK, 20 March 2017 [Gurtong] - Speaking during the handing over ceremony the Commissioner of Rumbek Central County, Manyiel Riak Manyiel urged the USAID-VISTAS to speed up the construction beside the old traditional town court office which was constructed during the British colonial period.

Mr- Mnayiel said the old building constructed by the British will remain as a museum while the new traditional town court will be next to it.

The judge of Rumbek traditional town Court, Dhalbeny Makuer Gol appreciates the USAID-VISTAS for making the project for the construction of his office a reality.

“When this office was constructed by the British, it involved all the communities of Lakes State and Tonj and it served communities of South Sudan.”

The clerk of Rumbek Town,Peter  Akuc Ater said that his office has prepared all documentation and approval for  USAID-VISTAS to  construct  the new office of the traditional town court  in Rumbek County.
