WASHINGTON, 03 April 2017 [Gurtong] - This follows a report the two congressmen quoted to President Donald Trump that was posted in the Washington post indicating that “the United States and its allies and the United Nations could have done more, and done it earlier to stop the fighting, curtail the flow of weapons and bring about better conditions for humanitarian aid.”

The letter to President Trump by the former congressmen say that a Special Envoy for Sudan and South Sudan would be someone who is a shrewd truth-teller and negotiator and one who cannot be fooled by the Muslim-Brotherhood aligned to the government of Khartoum.

They recommended President Trump to select someone who is tough, knowledgeable, and widely respected.

The congressmen also pointed out the famine that is spreading in South Sudan which is a man-made disaster caused by failure of leadership, rule of law and governance will claim countless of lives.
