Dalmas Child Development Initiative Holds One Day Media Workshop In Wau

Dalmas Child Development Initiative organization with support from Democracy International together with SUCCESS project last Thursday held a one day media workshop.

WAU, 16 July 2017 [Gurtong] - The workshop aimed to discuss about what role the media should play to curb the looming disintegration among the communities in Wau and how best government and stakeholders should use the media to harmonise the relations among communities in Wau.

At the end of the workshop, the 50 youth who attended the workshop said government should grant free media access across the country.

They also called for the involvement of cultural activities that can bring all different groups together.
James Umuor Maciek, founder of Dalmas Child Development Initiative who spoke to Gurtong said his organization looks at how the media should play a positive role in reuniting the people.

“The objective of this workshop is to ensure and discus basically with the media and all networks with other civil society organizations, the government and other institutions in Wau to ensure that communities in Wau are well informed accordingly about issues regarding peace in Wau,” said Maciek.
