Six Die During Cattle Raid Between Eastern And Western Lakes State Youth

At least four people have died and six others wounded during a cattle raid between youth from Western and Eastern Lakes State last Thursday.

RUMBEK, 14 November 2017 [Gurtong]-The Minister of Information and Communication in Eastern Lakes State, Abraham Majak Makur told Gurtong that the government of Eastern Lakes State under the leadership of Bor Philip Wutchok condemned the attack launched by the armed youth of Eastern Lakes State against Western Lakes State.

“Our official Statement as government of Eastern Lakes State is that we have condemned the attack staged by the armed youth of Eastern Lakes in an attempt to raid cattle from Western Lakes State last week in the strongest term possible and we are not obliged to talk about their causalities on the behalf of those youth who went to raid cattle in Western Lakes State,” said Abraham Majak.

Makur said that those who survived the attack in Western Lakes State will be apprehended.

The Commissioner of Eastern Bahr Naam County of Western Lakes State, Mabor Makuac  Ater said the actual figures of causalities are yet to be announced as more bodies are being discovered.

“It needs me to have time to verify the accurate figure of causalities and the exact number of cattle rescued from the raiders of neighboring Eastern Lakes State”. He said.
