Bor, 16 January 2019 (Gurtong)- A seven year-old boy, abducted in
Ayood County in 2017, has been re-unite with his family after two
years, a Jonglei government official told Gurtong on Tuesday.

The acting governor for Jonglei State, Agoot Alier, who is also the deputy governor, confirmed that his government has handed over the abducted child to representatives of Fangak State.

The cooperation of the youth in Jonglei have made this handing over
possible, because it was the youth of greater Bor of Twic North that who were able to negotiate the return of the child, Alier told Gurtong.

The deputy governor added that if it were not the spirit of cooperation between the communities, it would not have been possible to the return of the child to the parents. The spirit of peace and togetherness, he said must continue.

Fangak representatives congratulated Jonglei’s government for showing
signal of unity by recovering one of their abducted children.
