I. Situation Overview
Slight improvements in humanitarian access were reported during the last two weeks in parts of Jonglei, Warrap, Western Equatoria and Central Equatoria States.
Jonglei and Warrap: Continued insecurity in Jonglei and Warrap States had delayed humanitarian response to over 22,000 IDPs that were displaced by various incidents of fighting in August 2009. In Twic East, Jonglei State, 15,567 people that were displaced after the attack by Lou Neur on Lith Payam at the end of August were verified at the end of October. Up to 570 IDPs displaced in Duk Padiet were also verified.
Distributions of food and NFIs will resume in the next few weeks. WFP has begun to airdrop twomonth food rations to about 6,000 IDPs who were displaced in Rualbet Payam, Warrap State following inter-communal fighting in the area in August.
