Dear Elders and All Equatorians,
The year 2010 is special in our lives as Equatorians and South Sudanese. It is special because we are going to witness elections which is a determining factor and a stepping stone to the Referendum for Self-Determination for South Sudan.
If South Sudanese, especially Equatorians, handle the general elections well, the Referendum for Self Determination of South Sudan in 2011 will go well also. We in ECE are saying this because, history tells us that, Equatoria is the backbone of South Sudan. So, let us handle the forthcoming elections with the civility and the coolness Equatorians are always known for. ECE wishes you all a very Happy New Year, 2010.
In its first meeting in the year 2010, which took place at its temporary head office at 1806 Alberti Drive, Silver Spring, in the State of Maryland, USA, the Executive Committee made progressive decisions. The Executive Committee is therefore very happy to announce to all the honorable members of ECE and all Equatorians the following:
A. In pursuance of continuous contacts and communication between ECE and those concerned in Sudan, and after obtaining their consent and approval, the following persons have been approved as members of the Board of Directors of ECE with effect from December 20, 2009. They are:
1. H.E. (Rtd) Major General Alison Monani Magaya.
2. Honorable Dr. Stanslaus Wani Jada.
3. Honorable Agnes Nyoka.
4. Honorable Yousif Abdel-Hai Fadel-Mulla.
5. Honorable Colonel, Pasquale Bandidi Uru
6. Honorable Ramadan Hassan Lako
B. After a lengthy and fruitful contacts and communication between ECE and one of Elder who resides in New York City, New York State, USA, and with his consent and willingness to serve Equatoria, Dr. David Bassiouni is now the ECE Advisor, on all political, economic, social, and professional issues. He takes this position in ECE with effect from December 20, 2009.
We in ECE would like to assure all members of the Council and all Equatorians that, this is not an exhaustive list of the Board members, contacts are being made to complete the required number. And as soon as we get the consent of those already contacted, all the members and the general public will be notified accordingly.
Thank you all.
