Congratulations and Advice To Salva Kiir

"Your earlier policies in bringing on board the majority of Southern Sudanese have worked and South Sudan under your leadership had been able to overcome all the conspiracies and odd situations..."

To H.E. First Lt. General Salva Kiir Mayardit, Elect President of the Government of Southern Sudan,
Juba, South Sudan.

Your comradeship, i take the opportunity on behalf of the SPLM Chapter in Windsor Ontario in Canada to congratulate your Excellency and your comrades for trust our people have in yourself and the SPLM. Our people have spoken through their votes which they have given to your comradeship and our SPLM comrades in the first general elections in Sudan after the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) January 2005.

I wish to assure your comradeship of the support of the entire SPLM Membership in Windsor Ontario and Essex County. The SPLM Membership in Windsor Ontario and Essex County stands shoulder to shoulder with your comradeship and your comrades in the SPLM Political Bureau (PB)and in the SPLA. We trust that your comradeship will work tirelessly to ensure that the dream of our people is achieved in January 2011 despite political maneuverings of the North Sudan intend to undermine the realization of the goals for which we took up arms in 1983.

Being aware of the toughness of the time ahead of us, we suggest the nomination or selection of the cabinet members and others who will stand shoulder to shoulder with you when the going gets tough. Your earlier policies in bringing on board the majority of Southern Sudanese have worked and South Sudan under your leadership had been able to overcome all the conspiracies and odd situations engineered by self-centred individuals in South Sudan and the enemies of peace and prosperity of Southern Sudan. Such self-centred individuals in South Sudan need to be told to care much for their children and their grandchildren rather than for the positions or wealth they wish to acquire by all means including hindering the attaintment of the goals for which we sacrificed million of lives during the war of liberation. Being aware of the intention of such individuals, it is imperative for your comradeship to be more proactive so that their ill intention is defeated.

Having said that, we also want to bring to your comradeship's attention the need for full screening of the individuals being appointed to constitutional and other executive positions in Southern Sudan. A number of South Sudanese individuals from overseas had been appointed to higher civil service and diplomatic positions in both Governments of National Unity (GONU) and Southern Sudan with no reference to their previous backgrounds and the roles they played during the war of liberation. Thus, we hope that future appointments to positions of leadership will be made with consideration of ability, commitment, and loyalty to the principles and objectives of our just struggle. God bless and your next team.

Long live the SPLM Leadership
Long live the struggle of the marginalized Sudanese people
Victory in January 2011 Oyee
SPLM\SPLA Oyee

Yours in struggle

Lual Guet Jok
SPLM Veteran and SPLM
Chapter Chairperson
