Dear representatives from Faith Based Organizations, the Media and the Civil Society,
Congratulations on a well done referendum. Well done for the hard work that you did in civic education. Your great efforts resulted into a credible, peaceful and orderly referendum process. You have empowered the voters to make the correct decision to overwhelmingly vote for secession.
Now that we have passed one of the most important stages in our liberation struggle, we the people of South Sudan must embark on the next stage of self- governance by increasing our interactive participation in government policies. As stipulated in Cde President Kiir, 2nd Session of SSLA Opening Speech:
“Since we were democratically elected, we must consult with our Peoples as to what course of action can be taken with respect to the Transition Period”.
Civil Society in conjunction with the government also represents the people, and the President has called You to participate in issues pertaining to the constitutional review.
We therefore invite you to briefing on the role of media and the civil society organizations in the ongoing process of Southern Sudan Constitutional Review
