Final Proposed National Anthem

For peace, justice and liberty
Shall forever reign.

Final Proposed National Anthem

Oh God!
We praise and glorify you
For your grace on South Sudan,
The land of great abundance
The Nile, valleys, forests and mountains

Oh motherland!
Arise! Raise your flag with the guiding star
Sing the songs of freedom with joy,
For peace, justice and liberty
Shall forever reign.

Oh great warriors!
Let us stand up in silence and respect
Salute our martyrs whose blood
Cemented our national foundation,
Uphold us united in peace and harmony
With pride, we vow to protect our nation.

So Lord, bless South Sudan!

Dear Committee,
I would like to appreciate the form the national anthem looks now. I have remembered having advice one of the member before and now the wording are fine at my judgment. However, I really request the members to drop the last statement of the first stanza. here it seems to me some communication error. Because you have stated that " ROSS is a land of abundance", then there is no need of mentioning "Nile, mountains etc" because abundance means a lot of things and beside it is repetition and carries no added value. The other issue is that Yes the people of ROSS had not seen peace for 55 years and our thinking and activities are dominated by war like behavior. I hove i did not offend any one including myself. This was not by choice. Therefore, I again request, the members to review and remove the word "warriors" and replace it with Sons and Daughters of South Sudan. We are writing this anthem for we the adults of ROSS but more so for our children. Do we still want our children to continue on the path of war? by calling them warrior? Let us not build war in the mind of our kindergarten children and besides we would like our children to be heroes of development not destruction. I hope I did not offend anyone but a humble contribution. Thanks

The stanza is fine because it is acknowledging what our great martyrs did.Interpretations will always differ from one person to the other but I think the " oh great warriors " part introduces the content of the stanza that is praising our warriors for the great job they did.
