KUACJOK, 10th January 2012 [Gurtong] - The speaker of Warrap State Legislative Assembly Right Hon. Madot Dut Deng has welcomed the removal of the State civil servants who have attained retirement age in the State payroll system.
This week, the State Minister for Labour, Public Service and Human Resources Development in the government of Warrap State Mr. Joseph Malek Arop issued an order that calls on the State employees at retirement age to relinquish their duties as required by the public services laws in the country.
The exercise which begun this week is underway and about 1, 000 employees of the 6,000 personnel of the government of Warrap State are likely to be affected according to the minister.
The order reads that citizens who have reached the retirement age should give way to young people to deliver efficient and quality services to the population in the State.
He added that, individuals who were ordered to retire will receive three months salaries starting from the month of January to March this year.
“As per the Ministerial order, your monthly salaries will be entitled to you for three months starting from January, February and March 2012,” Arop said.
The Minister pointed out that employees who have received three month’s compensation will cease to receive more payments and their names would be erased from the payroll thereafter.
