IRI is a non-profit, nonpartisan organization that advances freedom and democracy and developing political potential, civil institution, open elections, democratic governance and rule of law to the political parties worldwide.
The workshop was aimed at providing SPLM with information activities to its members across country in order to build their capacity on communication.
Speaking to Gurtong during the workshop at Quality Hotel last Friday, the SPLM National Secretary for Information and Culture Mr. Bol Makueng said the workshop was to help them in reforming programmes since the party is approaching the scheduled 2013 party’s restructuring and organization.
“After completing this workshop, these participants from various states will enable SPLM-South Sudan to re-enrol her members across the county and to ease understanding during the 2013 event,” Makueng said.
Makueng also pointed out that the participants are expected to advocate for national building based on unity, prosperity and legitimacy through conducting meetings with their local communities and SPLM’s political figures in government especially the SPLM members in state assemblies.
He also recognized the trained information secretaries as part of their strategies to go to their respective states; mobilize their youth compatriots on the current crisis along the South Sudan’s territories and to protect their land.
Bol also urged the information secretaries to enlighten their youth and traditional chiefs to distance themselves from negative cultural altitudes of cattle rustling and to rebel attacks on innocent women and children in the country.
