WAU, 19 May 2012 [Gurtong] – Aleu who served as Tonj South County Commissioner prior to his appointment was sworn into office on Monday.
He replaces former Deputy Governor Yel Mayar Mareng.
Aleu told Gurtong that the appointment came as a surprise as he had been relieved of his duties as the Tonj South County Commissioner only a few days ago.
“I am grateful for the new appointment and I will diligently serve the people of Warrap County in pursuit of development”, he said.
He added that combating cattle rustling will be his top priority, saying the vice has immensely contributed to underdevelopment in the state.
