WAU, 01 July 2012 [Gurtong] – A team from the SPLM Secretariat is in Western Bahr el Ghazal State where it is holding a series of meetings with the party leadership and supporters at the grassroots.

The team led by National Liberation Council member Nartisio Loluke includes key party leaders Efisio Kon Uguak, Francis Milla, Achuil Malith Bangol and Mary Emilio Bafuka.

During their stint in the state, the team will meet the Western Bahr el Ghazal State Secretariat, the Youth and Women’s Leagues, the Legislature and Executive Caucuses amongst others.

Sources in the team said it will also hold consultative meetings with representatives of the civil society, religious groups and community leaders as well as with other interest groups.

It will hold public rallies and seminars in Wau before moving to the counties, payams and bomas.

The SPLM last week launched countrywide visits to express gratitude with the people for their relentless support during the liberation struggle and throughout the implementation of the CPA, the 2010 general elections and the 2011 referendum.

The visit comes just days before the country’s first independence anniversary.
